On October 14, 2026, four people who helped Reckless Ben (Benjamin Schneider) with the Bricks & Minifigs LEGO story filed a civil rights lawsuit against the City of American Fork and 13 AFPD officers. The case is Norcross et al. v. City of American Fork, U.S. District Court for the District of Utah, Case No. 2:26-cv-01008. Plaintiffs are Sheldon Norcross, Tyler Shaw, Sierra Lauts, and Steven Allen.

We're LIVE breaking down the 52-page complaint and the bodycam footage from Reckless Ben's LEGO Story Part 2.

What the lawsuit alleges:
🚔 A traffic stop for a stop-sign violation the AFPD Chief himself says "clearly" didn't happen
🐕 A driver held about two hours and a drug dog brought in AFTER he blew .000, with an officer recorded saying "I was gonna scare him a little bit and let him go"
📱 A man's phone ripped from his hand and him arrested after he invoked his right to remain silent and locked his screen
🪧 A GoFundMe sign, hung with the property owner's permission, cut down and booked into evidence
📝 A search warrant for "stolen... Lego merchandise" based on an affidavit the Chief now calls "one of the biggest places where we screwed up"
🔫 An entry with guns drawn, including a rifle, without a knock-and-announce, and every occupant handcuffed and taken to the station

According to the complaint, none of the four plaintiffs was ever charged with a crime.

The lawsuit brings 19 counts under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 for First and Fourth Amendment violations, including unlawful stops, unlawful searches, arrest without probable cause, excessive force, judicial deception, and First Amendment retaliation. It also brings a Monell claim against the City for failure to train and supervise.

⚖️ These are allegations in a complaint. They have not been proven in court, and the defendants have not yet responded. We'll follow this case as it moves forward.
