A catastrophic glacial landslide and flash flood has struck Nepal and China when a huge chunk of a glacier apparently broke off, plunged ~4000 ft down, smashed into a glacial dam and broke it up, sending a debris loaded flash flood downstream into Nepal. Hundreds of people are currently reported missing, including 341 foreign nationals (47 from the USA), but these are initial estimates and based on the video footage we have this appears to be a mass casualty event with numbers reaching into the thousands.
