They callously mistook John’s confusion (due to his dementia) for attempted shoplifting, and then called the police. But the police were worse. Officer TJ Godbey punched this vulnerable man 6 times, which was caught on video. And then he, along with Danville Police Officer Ben Ray, arrested John. A lawsuit was filed, which I covered about a year ago. That case has now been settled, with the government claiming the high road. But there’s something they’re not telling you, and they can’t be allowed to cover it up, and escape accountability.

On March 10, 2022, Lexington KY police officers responded to a report of a “disorder” at St. Joseph Hospital. The call was dispatched to LPD officer Myles Foster and officer Daniel Helo. The caller was a hospital employee reporting that a 61 year old female was being “disorderly” and was refusing to leave Emergency Room #3. The 61 year old female was later determined to be Linda Trapp, a homeless woman. Rather than help her, within 21 seconds of meeting her, Officer Myles Foster threatened physical force. He would make good on that threat shortly afterwards, violently breaking her left leg. Then the nurses and emergency room physician would do nothing to help Linda Trapp, leaving her in agony for another 18 hours.

In a stunning 6–3 decision, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that President Donald Trump overstepped his authority by using the International Emergency Economic Powers Act to impose sweeping tariffs on China, Canada, Mexico, and other trading partners. The Court made it clear: emergency powers cannot be used to rewrite U.S. trade policy.

🚨 Translation? Trump’s signature economic weapon just hit a constitutional wall.

This ruling wipes out a massive portion of second-term tariffs — policies the Congressional Budget Office estimated could impact the economy by nearly $3 TRILLION over the next decade. The U.S. Treasury has already collected more than $133 billion from these import taxes.

Now the focus shifts to the $170 BILLION refund fight. Over 1,500 companies are lining up for potential repayments as the case heads back to the United States Court of International Trade. One justice warned the process could become a “mess.”

But here’s the twist: this may not be the end of tariffs — just the end of overnight tariff shocks. Trump still has multiple statutory pathways to rebuild parts of his tariff wall, though slower and more limited.

With average tariff rates jumping from 2% to over 15% — and possibly falling toward 6.5% — this ruling could reshape inflation, trade wars, and real incomes heading into 2026.

UPDATE: On January 6, I posted a video showing Wake County (NC) Deputy Andrew Deras walking up to the front door of the Briggs family’s home. Nobody answers the door, so he just lets himself in and begins to look around. About a minute later, shots ring out from inside the house. He shot the family dog. Mr. Briggs was at work. Mrs. Briggs was out of town. Their 4 kids were at school. It was just Zelda, the family’s beloved Belgian Malinois, being a good girl, doing her job protecting their home from armed intruders. Zelda didn't make it. After my video was published, it ended up making the local news in North Carolina, and resulting in a response from the Wake County Sheriff's Department. Unbelievably, Deputy Deras seems to have completely disappeared.

Deadly protests erupt in Iran

At least 65 people have been killed and more than 2,300 arrested in two weeks of anti-government protests that have rocked Iran, the US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency said. The
demonstrations have taken place in a wave of nationwide unrest over crippling economic conditions.

An internet blackout across the country imposed by the authorities is also ongoing, according to a watchdog. Authorities had cut internet access and telephone lines in Tehran and other cities on Thursday.

President Donald Trump has threatened to attack Iran if security forces respond with force and Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the US supports the country’s people. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei urged Trump to “focus on his own country” and blamed the US for inciting the protests.

CNN correspondent Paula Hancocks reports from Abu Dhabi, and Fareed Zakaria speaks with Kaitlan Collins.
